The Brink

October 2020

Dreams are built through hard work, perseverance, and a strong desire to succeed. These are the characteristics that those involved in the Hyperloop development embody. This technology will revolutionize how people move and interact with the world; As a result, concentrating on the development of this innovative technology is critical to the success of not only the Hyperloop, but also humanity's next chapter. The ability to concentrate on the Hyperloop's development was the fundamental premise for the campus design. Everyone on campus is contributing to the advancement of this technology, and each wing of the campus directs its energy toward the laboratory, which is the focal point. The campus is divided into three wings, each of which contributes to the building's function in its own way: the public wing serves as a source of inspiration and knowledge, the office/classroom wing serves as a hub for innovation and communication, and the living wing serves as a source of rejuvenation after devoting their energy to the project. Visitors can use the negative spaces in between the wings as parks, providing a balance of nature and technology. The main goal of the design was to make the residents feel linked to the laboratory at all times when on campus. All of the building's limbs converge and stretch out to become the lab. The light wells from the roof canopy give a visual route towards the lab when viewing from within the open park areas. All the structures lead to the culmination point, a central courtyard that serves as the access point for the laboratory and arena. The relationship between the arena and laboratory is a formal area of connection between the public and researchers. The arena contains a large window display to the laboratory for special occasions, allowing the audience to participate in the making of history.
